The building that houses the Lakeside Lodge and Grille was built for the general manager of the Wells House hotel in 1904. It became the home of F.R.Smith, who built his famous Smith Rowboats for the Sagamore Hotel in the barn behind the house. He moved his boatworks to its current locaction on the Sagamore Road.
The building was opened as the Lakeside Lodge in 1945 by the Keating family. The Scott family opened their restaurant, The House of Scotts, in 1972. In 2006, Art and Nicole Baker bought and opened the restaurant, returning it to its former name, the Lakeside Lodge.
Our dinner menu covers showcase a variety of photographs from the Lakeside Lodge's past. Friends of the Keating family, the Kneeshaw girls posed for the picture in the upper right and love the Lakeside!
